Acacia myrtifolia

Description:
The Myrtle Wattle is a small shrub 1-2 metres high. It has an interesting flower in that each flower sphere is made up of 3 complete flowers.


Flowering:
Flowering occurs from July through to October. It is the first wattle to flower at Wirrapunga.

Threats:
Since it is a pioneering species it can disappear if there are no events such as fire.

Management:
The Myrtle wattle is a woody weed and can become a problem if it is allowed to take over. It may also need suitable events to allow the seedbank, in the soil, to germinate and create another seedbank
