7th September - Acacia paradoxa - Kangaroo Thorn

Acacia paradoxa

Description:
Reasonably widespread throughout south eastern Australia, kangaroo thorn grows to 3m high.

Flowering:
Flowering occurs from August through to October.

Threats:
Acacia paradoxa doesn't seem to have any threats. In fact it is a declared noxious weed in some parts of Australia. It thrives on fire and can become a real problem where fire is used as a management tool.

Management:
There seems to be little problem with managing this plant other than removing excess plants where necessary.
