Opercularia turpis

Description:
Perennial subshrub groundcover with erect branches to 30cm long, produced from one short main stem. Dinoecious (bearing separate male and female flowers on separate plants). Photo is of female flower. (There are two of these at Wirrapunga. Unfortunately both are female plants. This is a problem when buying from a nursery that has grown from cuttings.

Flowering:
Flowering occurs from August to November.

Threats:
Easily overgrown by more vigorous species.

Management:
Seems to do reasonably well.
