Description:
Large rhizomatous tufted perennial with the leaves arising from the culms. Culms 1-5 m high, usually unbranched, largely enclosed by the leaf sheaths.

Flowering:
Flowers December to August.

Threats:
Once established needs no special care for it to thrive..

Management:
Grows in virtually wwet places. Esily propogated by seed, cutting or division.
